An Intimate New Years Eve Dinner
I've always considered New Years Eve to be the high school prom of holidays: chances are you will end up at a highly anticipated, underwhelming party in a dress you'll never wear again. But at the same time, spending the night at home on the couch can feel a little sad, even if on any other night that's your idea of a perfect evening.
This year, a couple of friends and I decided to take New Years into our own hands and host a dinner to bid 2016 adieu. Turns out, all you need to ensure your NYE plans won't disappoint is total control.
With three hostesses at the helm, it was easy to divide and conquer. We turned to Paper by Paperless post for chic snail-mail invitations, put together a menu of delicious crowd-pleasers, created a festive yet unfussy table setting, and invited all our fun and lovely friends. And, with a playlist of dancey favorites and lots of champagne, no one seemed to notice that we had to pool chairs from our three apartments to have seating for twelve dinner guests.
