After a summer of galavanting around the country like the carefree jetsetter I wish I was, I'm starting to feel reality's gravitational pull bringing me back down to earth in a big way. I'm predicting that fall, for this girl at least, will be an exercise in learning to reel it back in. Which means I probably won't be buying a $300 handmade bikini (even though I REALLY want it), an $80 wood and leather tassel (even though I'm currently imagining it hung on a doorknob in my apartment) or the $75 lip balm my boyfriend's sister introduced me to (even though a dab of it made me feel like Angelina Jolie). I can certainly live without all of the pretty things above, but, if I lived in a world where summer-style spending was sustainable, this stuff would be pretty hard for me to resist.
